PLETHORA:

A Collection of Poems

Frains

When life’s storms hit you hard in the face
so much so there is no more strength left for the race
and they whom you call friends abandon you, leaving without a trace
what do you do?

When love turns sour
with every passing hour
and there is no more ‘us’, ’we’ or ‘our’
what do you do?

When you lose your way
and there is no place to lay
or a familiar face to whom you may
just what do you do?

When you use your might
to fight for what you believe is right
but fail outright
what do you do?

When you strip off all your coats real slow
to let the real you show
but people still make you feel so low
then what do you do?

When you feel empty and alone
with no one you can truly call your own
because of the many chances you blown
what do you do?

When everything you worked so hard for
family, career, health, wealth-these four
come crushing down to the floor
what do you do?

In a world where truth is vain
and the order of the day is pain
because vileness and deceit reign
what do you do?

In an age where opinion, color and creed
divides, even more than greed
and love seems obsolete but rage is implanted in the new breed
what do you do?

Life is a never ending inquiry and with so many questions to ask
it seem that answers are a few, or at least, a colossal task
as such, before life’s questions, many, conceal with a mask
but really, what do you do?

Dare to move forward, make a change and don’t remain
stuck before the frains of life; you never know beyond, what will be your gain.
